Training Class Attendance:

  • Puppy School courses consist of 6 weekly classes. Essentials courses consist of 3 weekly classes. For optimum results, please attend all classes of your course. To make the most of the classes and achieve optimal results, many short daily training sessions at home and on walks are essential to allow you and your dog to practice the techniques and lessons prior to the next class.
  • Puppies and dogs must be vaccinated to attend classes. Your vet can advise when it is safe for your puppy or dog to attend group classes. If you are unsure or have questions about vaccinations, please consult your vet directly. It is your responsibility to have your puppy or dog fully vaccinated and health checked by a vet. Puppy School does not consider homeopathic nosodes an acceptable alternative to conventional vaccines for young puppies.
  • For those attending Puppy School classes: your vaccination card must be shown to Faye Hasler, either by emailing a copy in advance of the course beginning or by bringing your vaccination card on week 1 of the course to confirm your puppy’s status as fully vaccinated.
  • Puppy School classes are for puppies under the age of 20 weeks on the start date of the course.
  • Essentials courses are for all puppies and dogs over 20 weeks old.
  • For those attending Puppy School classes: although efforts are made to allow your puppy to interact safely with other suitable puppies in the class for short periods, Faye Hasler cannot guarantee the right mix of puppies on each course for this to be done safely. Consequently, puppy interactions may not occur in classes, this is to ensure the safety of all puppies attending. Faye Hasler aims to teach safe and appropriate greetings/interactions between puppies during the classes.
  • Puppies or dogs that are aggressive towards people, other dogs or in other contexts should not attend classes as it is not a suitable environment for them. Please consider booking a behaviour consultation instead to provide you with the support you need www.trainwithfaye.co.uk/dog-behaviour
  • Occasionally a class environment does not suit a puppy, dog or owner. Full discussion over the best way to proceed will be undertaken and this may result in alternative arrangements to assist and support you.
  • All children must be under the close supervision of a responsible adult at all times who must agree to prevent them from disturbing the process of learning during the class. Faye Hasler reserves the right to ask that children do not attend classes. Children must not bring small toys, small items of any description or food to classes due to the risk of ingestion by their own puppy/dog and/or other puppies/dogs attending the classes. Children must not approach the other puppies or dogs attending the classes.
  • Missed classes cannot be taken by joining another group as there may not be places available.
  • Reward-based training uses food treats. Although there will be some treats available at the classes, it is important to bring with you a supply of tasty, smelly food treats, cut into small pea-sized pieces, that your puppy or dog will work hard for and is used to eating. Please see www.puppyschool.co.uk/reward-based-training for further information.
  • Please note Puppy School Maidenhead classes are not clicker training classes, if you are using a clicker, please feel free to continue in class, please note, time will not be allocated during class to introduce owners to clicker training or train owners how to use their clickers unless special circumstances apply.
