I am a modern, reward-based trainer and behaviourist. I am the only Animal Behaviour and Training Council (ABTC) accredited and registered Clinical Animal Behaviourist and Animal Training Instructor in Maidenhead.
I began my career in reward-based dog training and behaviour in 2006 and have continued to support owners with their puppies and dogs since then. I am based in Maidenhead, Berkshire and cover the surrounding areas for training and behaviour support. I am a passionate advocate of reward-based training and offer a friendly, reliable and professional service.
I have a BSc (Hons) in Applied Animal Behaviour from the University of Portsmouth and, in addition to my degree, I have completed a module of postgraduate study in Clinical Animal Behaviour with the University of Edinburgh. Every year I complete extensive continued professional development by attending a variety of conferences, workshops, seminars and webinars.
I am an Animal Behaviour and Training Council (ABTC) Registered Clinical Animal Behaviourist and Animal Training Instructor. I am proud to be part of an accreditation scheme that allows pet owners and vets to seek advice from properly qualified and experienced behaviourists. I am a full member of the Association of Pet Behaviour Counsellors (APBC) and a full member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers (APDT).
It is important to know that the dog training and behaviour industry is not properly regulated, which means anyone can call themselves a dog trainer or behaviourist, regardless of their experience, academic background or techniques used in training and behaviour modification. I am appropriately qualified, experienced and accredited to help you and your dog.
When looking for a trainer or behaviourist ensure they are listed on the Animal Behaviour and Training Council’s list of practitioners www.abtc.org.uk
The Animal Behaviour and Training Council is a regulatory body that represents animal trainers and behaviourists to both the public and to legislative bodies, in addition to setting and maintaining the standards of knowledge and practical skills needed to be an accredited animal trainer or behaviourist.
Memberships and accreditations
All memberships and accreditations have required a comprehensive application process, including assessment of my academic knowledge and practical handling skills.
